Chug Bait

Public Panels for the Community

The Israeli Leadership Council has been focused on expanding its programs and has been contributing to the general American-Israeli community in many ways. The focus on education, commitment to Israel and community has led us to develop Chug Bayit.

Chug Bayit focuses on leading “salon” style discussions about current event issues related to Israel, as well as Jewish and Israeli heritage. Organized for small groups of 25-30 people, the Chug Bayit program is hosted at private homes in and is open to all members of the Israeli and American Jewish community. The ILC provides an array of special guest speakers to partake in  informal discussions with the attendees. Topics have ranged from “The Meaning of a Nuclear Iran for Israel and the Arab World” to discussions on the development of the Negev in Israel. Through educational and engaging lectures, the ILC hopes to connect, inspire activism, and raise awareness of pertinent issues affecting the American-Israeli community.

We have been proud and honored to host the following experts as speakers for Chug Bayit:
Dr. Ra’anan Gissin | Former Senior Adviser to Ariel Sharon
Prof. Gerald Steinberg | President of NGO Monitor and Chairman of the Political Studies Department at Bar Ilan University
Nitsana Darshan-Leitner | Founder of Shurat HaDin - Israel Law Center
Ofir Fisher | Negev Director of the “OR Movement”
Zvi Chalamish | Consul and Chief Fiscal Officer of Israel's Ministry of Finance for North America

We are excited to continue to grow the popular Chug Bayit. If you have any suggestions for topics and speakers, or if you are interested in hosting a Chug Bayit at your home,
