Shevet Chen and Shevet Harel's Successful Opening Day

Sponsored by the ILC, Shevet Chen and Shevet Harel had a successful opening day event on Sunday, October 10. Both groups keep showing significant growth with a major increase in participation.

Shevet Chen, the Israeli Scout group in the San Fernando Valley and currently the largest Israeli Scout group in the US, had an attendance of about 210 kids, a 25% increase from last year. 50 of them are counselors who are going through an intensive leadership training throughout the years. Shevet Harel, Shevet Harel, the new one-year-old Israeli Scout group in West LA, almost doubled its participation with around 70 participants.

The exciting opening day consisted of different interactive group activities in the Tzofim spirit. Shevet Harel SHLICHA, Dana Elkis expressed that the counselors have come to understand the importance of the Tzofim and the connection to Israel that it nurtures. This year is anticipated to be a promising one for the Tzofim and everyone is looking to the future with much excitement.
