On Sunday, July 25, 300 Israeli and American Jewish young professionals set sail on Dor Chadash – LA’s “Tu B’Love Boat” cruise in celebration of Tu B’Av – the Jewish holiday of love. Sponsored by the ILC, the sold-out DC-LA summer yacht party was a classy and fun event, deemed by some guests
as the highlight of the summer.
The elegant three-story yacht, courtesy of FantaSea Yachts & Yacht Club, sailed from Marina del Rey late Sunday morning and returned in the afternoon. Guests mingled on the open top deck of the yacht and enjoyed the sunny view of the marina, or danced to a mix of Israeli music and popular hits on the second level. Open bars on two levels served wine, beer and cocktails. Salsa lessons, a silent auction, a poker tournament and a matchmaking game kept everyone enjoyably entertained and fostered interaction between the young professionals.
The event was made possible by a generous donation from ILC Members Uri and Evi Ginzburg of FantaSea Yachts & Yacht Club, a three-generation family owned and operated company. Throughout the years, the Ginzburgs have demonstrated exceptional generosity by supporting the ILC as well as various other worthy causes in the Los Angeles Jewish community.
Dor Chadash – LA, in partnership with the ILC, is a network of Israeli and American Jewish professionals in Los Angeles who seek to create meaningful connections with Israel and each other through cutting-edge programming revolving around educational, cultural and social events tied to Israel. Only eight months in operation, DC-LA is making a significant impact in our community with many successful and sold out events reaching over 1,000 Israeli and Jewish-American young professionals.
