Nomination for ILC Honorary Board Member and Co-Founder: Ehud Danoch
The Israeli Leadership Council was born with the vision of Ehud Danoch. As former Consul General of Israel in Los Angeles, Ehud recognized the need to form an organization to empower and unite the Israeli-American community living in Los Angeles. With this goal in mind, Ehud called on leading Israeli-American businessmen to join him in making this dream a reality; this dream materialized with the creation of the ILC.
Nominated as Honorary Board Member and Co-Founder, Ehud will be representing the ILC in Israel with the goals of strengthening the connection between Israelis in America and Israelis in Israel as well as highlighting the Israeli-American community as an important asset to the State of Israel.
Prior to arriving in Los Angeles to assume the role of Consul General in 2004, Ehud served as Chief of Staff to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Silvan Shalom. He served in this position during one of Israel's most challenging moments in foreign policy and was involved in decisions including the road map, the disengagement plan, and the security fence. Before his position as Chief of Staff, he was the Senior Advisor to Israel's Minister of Finance. Here, he was involved in shaping Israel's economic policy and national budget. He also acted as the liaison between the Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minister's Bureau, the Israeli Parliament, and all other government offices.
Today Ehud is Managing Director at Westpex, a multi-million dollar Hong-Kong based, privately owned group of companies, specializing in exporting a wide range of finished goods to various world-wide markets. Ehud received both a law degree and an MBA from Manchester University and is a member of the Israeli Bar Association. He has worked as a lawyer specializing in corporate and finance law and business litigation. Born in Ashkelon, Israel, Ehud has lived abroad in Montevideo, Uruguay and Montreal, Canada. In addition to Hebrew, he speaks English and Spanish fluently. He serves as a reservist in Israel's Defense Forces at the rank of Captain.
Ehud is married to Miki, and they have two daughters
